J. P. Griffin, Inc. is a "CONSTRUCTION SERVICE" oriented company that specializes in mechanical contracting, HVAC engineering, design, refrigeration and renovation/retrofit work. We also perform new installations in commercial office buildings, schools, hospitals, medical facilities, and manufacturing/industrial plants, as well as marine vessels. Our vast experience and knowledge in the Construction Industry, as well as our commitment to providing quality 24 hours / 7 days a week service is one of our most respected assets.
Our employees have been the key to our success for over the past 70 years. All of our supervisors, journeymen, and apprentices are cross trained in the proper installation of pipe fitting, sheet metal and fiberglass ductwork, and controls. They are capable of executing any type/size job in a professional and courteous manner. J. P. Griffin, Inc. provides adequate training to all employees.
J. P. Griffin, Inc. makes the safety and health of our employees the first consideration in operating our business. J. P. Griffin, Inc. complies with all laws concerning the operation of the business and the health and safety of our employees and the public. The objective of the safety and health programs is that it will help reduce the number of injuries and illnesses to an absolute minimum, not merely in keeping with, but surpassing the best experience of similar operations by others. Our goal is zero accidents and injuries.
Our shop/warehouse is fully equipped with proper rigging equipment, portable welding machines, hi-lift truck, trailers, and specialty trade tools. We use them on all projects at no additional cost to our customers. Our production rate is high because of our mandatory training and safety programs. We also credit our success to the long-term employment of a well-trained and skilled “team” of employees. Each supervisor/journeyman has fully equipped and identified company vehicles.
J. P. Griffin, Inc.'s success, says Bryan J. Lingerfelt, owner and president, is based on "our industry expertise and professionalism." He adds, "We have built an organization that recognizes the importance of employee retention and opportunities for individual growth. We realize that in any service business, our people are the product."
Our employee turnover rate is virtually nil. One of the reasons for our very low turnover is that we provide an excellent benefit package to each employee that includes:
Our office and accounting staff are well versed in the proper billing procedures, i.e.; AIA Invoices, Schedule of Values, Certificates for Payments, Time and Material billing procedures and Monthly Progress Billing procedures.
Good technicians are hard to find so our philosophy is to make our own! We provide excellent in-house training programs coupled with field training and a “hands on” learning approach. J. P. Griffin, Inc. has also teamed with the RACCA (Refrigeration and Air Conditioning Contractors Association) Apprenticeship Program and encourages each new employee to attend this four- year program at no charge to the employee. The program consists of 624 classroom hours and 8,000 on-the-job (OJT) hours. Once the program is completed the student is recognized as a Journeyman in residential and light commercial heating and air conditioning service and installation. Apprenticeship programs are offered to new J. P. Griffin, Inc. employees. Currently J. P. Griffin, Inc. has six employees enrolled in the RACCA Apprentice Program. These young employees are the future of our organization, an investment in the future.
